Dr. Joe Wang is a well-known Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) instructor, practitioner, and researcher in Alberta. A graduate from Nanjing University of TCM(www.njutcm.edu.cn), he received a Bachelor of Medicine in 1985 and a Master of Medicine from the Faculty of TCM, Nanjing University of TCM in 1990. From 1985 to1997 he was a faculty at Nanjing University of TCM. In addition, Dr. Joe Wang also practiced Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture in the affiliated hospitals – Jiangsu Provincial TCM Hospital and Nanjing Brain Hospital. He joined the faculty in the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Portland, USA (1998-2000) and the International College of TCM of Vancouver, Vancouver, CA (2001).

Dr. Joe Wang with patientHe served two terms of postdoctoral fellow training in Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA (1997-1998) and Oregon Health Science University, Portland, USA (2000-2001). He joined the faculty of the Acupuncture Diploma Program of Grant MacEwan University in 2001 and is promoted to the Program Chair in 2010.

Dr. Joe Wang advocates integration of TCM with Conventional Medicine. He has extensive research experience in TCM-Acupuncture, and has published 30 more professional papers and books. Dr. Joe Wang is a Registered Acupuncturist in Alberta and is actively involved in TCM organizations. He was the Secretary and Executive member of the Acupuncture-TCM Society of Alberta. He is a council member and treasurer of College and Association of Acupuncturist of Alberta to help Alberta government to regulate the acupuncture profession.

Dr. Joe Wang has variety interesting in diseases and research area. He is specialized in neurological and muscle-skeletal diseases such as arthritis, depression, anxiety, migraine and tension headache, sciatica, neck and low back pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, MS, stroke, peripheral neuropathies etc. He has extensive experience and research on pain management. He is also good at men’s health, immune and endocrine disorders like sexual impotence, prostatitis, IBS, psoriasis, hypothyroidism, gout, obesity, PMS, menopause etc.

Dr. Joe Wang believes healing starts within. A great practitioner must be a great educator. He looks at your body as a whole. Only the root causes being addressed, the patient’s balance of health can be restored and lasted longer.
